could anyone confirm or deny if the sisters code of dress still prohibits the wearing of trousers?.
Most of the Sisters I knew/know always wear dresses, skirts, or long coulottes (spelling).
When I was in college before I met Darling Husband I worked with Jehovahs Witness when I was a maid at a hotel. She cleaned in a long skirt. The rest of us wore pants or shorts cause it gets darn hot in California...!

my prob is there's this girl i really really like alot.
she's beautiful,smart, has a great personality and i love being around her.
She may not be heavily involved with them now...but if you got married and had children I can almost 100% guarantee that she would probably go back to what she was raised as.
I think we as humans crave what we know and are familiar with.

well all, my dear step-daughter is going to be or has been reproved.
apparently she was at a party with unsavory things going on, and she confessed all to an elder.
sounds as though she won't be allowed to pioneer or get to go to pioneer school.
My husband was publicly reproved for marrying me. They took away his commenting priviledges at meetings too. They also did a little talk about keeping the congregation pure....blah blah blah.
It was humiliating for him and I almost cried.
There is no love in the WTS.
I am sorry for your daughter. Maybe this will help her to see that they are not the embodiment of true "Christian" Love.

tomorrow i will be mailing my special do not call, come by, or mail our family anything letter to new york.
i was told i should also send the same letter to all the local congregations we were once affiliated with.. i did this when we lived at our old address and the letter to the local kh came back returned for having no mailbox.. so how am i supposed to get the letters to them?.
any idea's?.
And now I fear it's only going to get worse since the live in property manager across the stree it a JW and is trying to rent out the rooms to "Good Brothers" from the KH.

i really blew it yesterday.
we had just gotten home from a very long day and we were contemplating what to do for dinner and then a knock at the door.
the sister was back with an elder and he asked to speak to my husband...completely got his name wrong.
Well the police have been notified. They are going to tell JW's to stay off of my property and to stay out of the private property parking lot.
Now here is the kicker...
The man who is the new property manager at the multi-family across the street is a JW!!
I came home with the boys from Target yesterday and he and I were chatting. I kept hearing all the special words they used and I asked him point blank...are you a Jehovahs Witness?
He literally puffed up and started smiling...asking me if I was a Jehovahs Witness.
Then he told me that he had just posted room for rent signs at the KH and that some really good brothers may be moving in across the street from me! He's trying to tell me what good quality people Jehovahs Witnesses are......because I like this guy and he really has cleaned the Human Waste out I didn't say anything about just how good the JW's have been to me.
I am guessing he hasn't heard about us yet.
I am really tired of all this BS. It's been going on 7 yeas and I am getting discouraged.
ok..discussions are being raised about child abuse..sexually and physically.i thought about alternatives to staying in the home.
calling the police evertime you are threatened or the children or beat.. .
if the mother is young..has no schooling..has several kids..no family or friends..how does she cope?
My cousin suffered from PPD after having her 3rd child. While her husband was away on a business trip she checked herself into the hospital and left the kids at home all alone. Ages ranging from 1- 7.
The kids were taken away. They were not given to the father because he is/was very abusive. Because she lived in another state from the rest of us we didn't find out until the kids were already in foster care for a few weeks.
When she was stabilized for depression, finished school and got a job she got her kids back. They have been back with her for 2 years now. The department of social services helped my cousin get her GED, her CNA certification, and has given the family support and therapy.
Unfortunately.....I know there are bad things that happen to kids in foster care. But I thought I would share a story from our family first that has worked out really well.
